The Oddest Couple

My eyes judge, but my heart admires. This odd couple.
In our world, we look for love in the places our eyes perceive as beauty.
In truth, our heart looks for love in what is.
No expectations, no need for change, just the thing, as it is.

They don't match, this odd couple.
Neither possess the new world appeal in body or demeanor.
But I don't think they notice.
They whisper, chuckle, smile at each other
in a way that tells the tale of their love.
That for them, it is love first,
before whatever it is the world may think of them.

Maybe what we stand to learn from this odd couple,
is the secret to lasting love.
Or, maybe.. since this is all based on judgment and assumption,
we just mind our business since we know nothing
of this odd couple.
